Trouble Sleeping? Ten Tips for Developing Healthy Sleep Habits.

The school year is in full swing, the holiday season is right around the corner and those hot summer days are finally surrendering to the brisk air and vibrant colors of autumn. Many of us have schedules packed to the brim with work obligations, family activities and travel plans over the holidays. Are you fitting in enough time for sleep?

The benefits of getting a good night’s sleep are beyond simply feeling rested. Medical research has found that adults who consistently get between 7-9 hours of sleep each night are less prone to chronic illness such as diabetes and heart disease, have stronger immunity, improved mood, better sex lives and increased brain power. It is tempting to stay up late in hopes of finishing up work projects or watching your favorite TV shows, but when late nights are the rule and not the exception, you are putting your health at risk!

Definitions of Anger


Have you ever had the experience of trying to untwist the twisted, such as your ear bud cords before you work out in the morning, a fishing line, or a necklace before wearing it out on the town?  

When things are all twisted and lumped together they don’t serve the purpose they have the potential to serve.  And it can be oh so frustrating.  In my mental health therapy practice I am often helping clients sort through emotions in an attempt to make sense of them and manage them more effectively and anger seems to be the most generally confusing emotion.
